A drunk Nigerian Army soldier has killed an Army General at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Lagos.

A drunk Nigerian Army soldier has killed an Army General at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Lagos.

Sources say that Corporal Abayomi Ebun of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja accidentally ran over the senior officer at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, as he was leaving the Center.

The source also said that the soldier, who was on Pass, was driving drunk when he hit Brigadier General James, the Director of Finance for the NAFRC.

Newsmen got a copy of an internal memo that said the senior officer was confirmed dead at the NAFRC Medical Center, where he was taken right away after the incident for medical care.

The memo said that on November 22, around 1:52:30 a.m., CPL Abayomi Ebun of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) Abuja, who was on pass and lived at Block P old Barracks NAFRC, drove out of the center and hit BRIG GEN JAMES, who was walking to his house in the center.

“The deceased senior officer was immediately evacuated to NAFRC medical centre where he was confirmed dead.

“The driver was alleged to be drunk and was driving recklessly within the centre.

“Driver is presently detained at the NAFRC Provost for further investigations,” it stated.
