Piers Morgan: Cristiano Ronaldo ‘regrets’ returning to Manchester United

Piers Morgan claims that Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he regrets his decision to return to Manchester United.

Piers Morgan claims that Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he regrets his decision to return to Manchester United.

Morgan says he discussed the Premier League club with Ronaldo back in April.

The Portugal captain’s return to Old Trafford a little over a year ago was met with many cheers.

The 37-year-old’s second season under new coach Erik ten Hag has been a struggle.

Morgan stated in a column he wrote for The Times,” ‘I can’t just keep ignoring what’s going on inside the club right now,” he told me. “It’s so amateur. No defined goal, no leadership, no organization, just a desert of ideas. The future is very dark unless things change very fast.”

“I asked him if he regretted going back, and he sighed: ‘Perhaps my heart spoke louder than reason.'”

Last week, Ronaldo and Morgan spoke for 90 minutes after their phone conversation.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had harsh words for the Red Devils’ administration, manager Erik ten Hag, and his former and current teammates.

United is in the process of ripping Ronaldo’s contract up right now.
